Marine Steve and I did visit Figeac for several days seven years ago and only took a fast walk around this time. Figeac on the Cele River has a huge, friendly Tourist Office. Make them your first stop for maps, and information about the entire Lot Valley, what to see and what to do.

Legend has it that the origin of Figeac was due to "Pepin the Short" - loved his name. Figeac is named a "Town of Art and History"; only awarded to places with an exceptionally rich architectural/historical heritage plus the determination to conserve and enhance it. Beautiful little town. (I apologize for the power washing noise in the background.)
